Automation Manufacturing Engineer CPC

Location: St. Paul, MN, US

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing team, based in Roseville, MN. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will Analyze, design, implement, test, and train on our automated equipment and production processes. Responsible to lead in This position works closely with production, Automation Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering and the Manufacturing Technologies teams.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

* Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
* Analyze, recommend and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, which will benefit from automation techniques.
* Support during automated equipment breakdowns, and technical issues which may include troubleshooting down to the plc, fixturing or component level.
* Creates meaningful metrics to track and improve the uptime, productivity, and product quality.
* Utilize Lean methodology and problem solving tools to investigate and resolve recurring equipment issues
* May direct and instruct both internal employees and external contractors during projects or advanced technical troubleshooting.
* Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
* Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
* Familiar with design and process validations
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
* Minimum of five (5) or more years of direct experience working with automated equipment at a technician level or higher
* Minimum of two (2) or more years of engineering work experience.
* Minimum of one (1) or more years of direct experience using CAD ( Computer Aided Design ) software

Preferred Qualifications:

* Understands pneumatic and electrical automated design concepts
* Understands and practices acceptable safe electrical, mechanical, and operator work practices.
* Proficient in electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical design, repair, troubleshooting, and training.
* Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC, HMI and communication Suites.
* Understands vision inspections systems and concepts
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Design and program PLC logic
* CAD, preferable Pro-E/CREO
* Project management training, certificate preferred, or equivalent experience.
* Dealing with Complexity, Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, CAD.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
