The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Senior Associate Technologist. In this Controls Packaging role you will have an opportunity to direct and participate in the design, development, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems for gas and diesel-powered generator sets, ensuring that they provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Complete practical electrical product designs using complex technical principles
* Serve as a liaison to the Lafayette factory to support production issues related to the genset control system, by evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving manufacturing problems
* Use technical expertise and product knowledge to resolve issues by interfacing with engineers, service representatives, plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants
* Collaborate with other engineering teams to define and meet product requirements
* Develop and maintain detailed project and validation plans
* Provide guidance to other engineers as required to ensure development schedules are met

Basic Qualifications:

* A University Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
* Internship, co-op, or relevant curriculum-driven project experience focused on electrical design

Top Candidates will also have:

* Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), CPI (Current Product Improvement), Product maintenance, or Cost Reduction design and development.
* Experience in electrical design and ability to interpret engineering drawings - sound technical background and a good knowledge of current engineering drawing practice.
* Strong leadership ability and good communications skills
* Masters degree in engineering, or equivalent experience
* High level of proficiency in Creo Parametric or other modeling or simulation tools
* Experience working with power generation and/or power distribution systems
* Controls system design experience
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience working in a fast paced globally located teams
