DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

As a Senior SoC Integration Design Engineer, you work in a team developing SoCs with custom hardware accelerators to be deployed in a range of Amazon devices. You will integrate industry standard and custom hardware IP into SoCs to accelerate applications in machine learning, computer vision and robotics. You will work closely with scientists, SoC architects, IP developers to develop SoCs that meets the power, performance and area goals for Amazon devices. You will help define the processes, methods and tools for design and implementation of large complex SoCs.

In this role you will:
Evaluate standard hardware IPs for integration into new SoCs
Review architecture and design of custom IPs for integration into new SoCs
Design and develop interface logic and top level netlists for new SoCs
Develop and implement methodologies for I/O, DFT, debug, clocking and power
Interface with foundries and back-end teams to deliver high-volume SoC silicon.
Provide technical leadership through personal example, mentorship, and strong teamwork

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree or higher in EE or CE or CS
3+ years or more of practical semiconductor design experience including design and integration of large IP blocks
Successful tape outs of complex, high-volume SoCs in advanced design nodes.
Experience writing HDL in Verilog/ SystemVerilog
Proficient in design methodologies and EDA tools for DFT, power, clocking and debug
Experience working with back-end tools including synthesis, place and route
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In-depth knowledge of CPU, DSP, or programmable accelerators
Experience working with RISC-V
SOC bring-up and post silicon validation experience
Experience with early power analysis
Architecture/System engineering experience
Experience developing with modern programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++), open-source technologies, and Linux.
Experience with gate level testing and multi clock design practices (CDC)
Experience working with software teams to tightly define the HW/SW interface including control/status registers, and error handling.
Experience working closely with physical design teams to develop highly optimized ASICs with excellent power, performance and area.
Experience in micro-architecture definition from architecture guideline and model analysis.
Experience in RTL coding and debug, as well as performance/power/area analysis and trade-offs
