Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the The New Products and Adjacencies (NPA) team is responsible for the pursuit and execution of business related to advanced military platforms, and the evaluation of opportunities in emerging and adjacent markets. As a systems engineer in this organization you will be responsible for performing technical activities in multiple NPA projects.
Job Description
?Lead the engineering team in defining and adopting Digital Engineering practices and methods as driven by customer requirements
?Perform model-based systems design and simulation to evaluate alternate architectures and to automate validation and verification activities to reduce cost of change
?Define and streamline systems engineering processes to cost effectively execute advanced technology programs with heavy emphasis on application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using a variety of techniques, methods and tools
?Perform system engineering and provide technical / project leadership on Research & Development and New Product Introduction programs
?Allocate system functional requirements into efficient software and firmware architectures
?Develop innovative technical solutions utilizing the full capabilities of GE Aviation Systems on development programs and proposals
?Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
?Streamline systems engineering processes to cost effectively execute advanced technology programs
?Identify enabling and discriminating technologies and Intellectual Property (IP) required to achieve business objectives
?Support bid and proposal efforts by creating differentiated technical solutions and generating engineering cost estimates
?Interact with customer engineering organizations to define and shape requirements for future platforms and systems
Qualifications / Requirements
?Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field from an accredited university or college
?Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for the design and verification of avionics-based systems
?Experience in model-based forms of development assurance
?Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in the aviation industry including the following:
?Experience in the development and specification of military avionics systems
?Knowledge of two or more of the following avionics subsystems: mission processing, networks, weapon systems, unmanned systems, payloads, sensors, and navigation systems

?Technical / Project Leadership experience, particularly in the development of new avionics products and systems
?Experience defining and implementing complex avionics systems architectures
?Knowledge of GE Aviation systems development processes
?Experience working and leading research and development projects
?Experience with software tools such as DOORs, Dimensions, RTC, Git, Windchill
?Experience in vehicle and avionics systems level design, integration, and verification
?Experience working with low-TRL research and development programs
?Experience with military mission systems, guidance and navigation, sensor integration and processing, and avionics control systems
?Familiarity with machine learning approaches and implementations
?Experience in writing and leading engineering teams developing proposals
?Strong verbal and written communication skills
?Proven track record of innovation
?Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic environment
