What this job involves
We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager with Medical Equipment Planning experience in our Charlotte, NC office. The Medical Equipment Planner role is a valued project team member who is responsible for successfully developing and delivering the medical equipment plans as scoped for healthcare capital projects. This role ensures client satisfaction throughout the planning process in meeting clinical, operational and project objectives. This ideal candidate will ensure all planning activities are performed, with complete data accuracy, in a manner consistent with documented processes while developing relationships through communication and leadership.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on challenging and innovative healthcare projects.
Essential Responsibilities
* Work with professional and clinical staff to identify medical equipment needs/requirements
* Facilitate user group meetings to establish appropriate placement and use of medical equipment
* Attend on-site and virtual planning meetings
* Establishes communication network between project teams, facility managers, program managers, architects, engineers, and third-party consultants
* Work effectively with architects, engineers, equipment manufacturers and contractors to identify design/equipment conflicts and recommend implement corrections
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for equipment installation and use
* Coordinates with the REVIT design team on medical equipment locations and placement
* Perform medical equipment inventories utilizing medical equipment knowledge
* Evaluate existing equipment and make purchase or re-deployment recommendations based on age, condition, and compliance with current equipment standards
* Manage equipment budgets, procurement, and installations
* Develops and maintains active open items list with follow-ups and resolutions as required
* Source medical equipment for quotes and compare pricing
* Assist Purchasing departments to procure equipment according to established standards and guidelines
* Maintain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and products
* Compiles, maintains and presents status reports on a regular and consistent basis
* Vendor coordination
* Data management
* Client/customer support

* Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management
* Understanding of basic design and construction concepts/terminology
* Knowledge of medical equipment and familiarity with healthcare, patient care, and clinical environments
* Four (4) year degree in a related discipline
* Proven verbal and written communications skills to develop and maintain relationships with management, peers and clients to allow for successful project execution and completion
* Proficiency in web-based equipment planning software (Attainia)
* Ability to travel up to 25%
Desired Skills and Qualifications
* Knowledge of healthcare industry practices including hospital and clinic procedures and departmental functions
* Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and clients
* Ability to multitask and communicate in high pressure situations
* Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of healthcare facility construction projects
* Knowledge of architectural design processes and documentation
* Ability to function independently or as part of equipment planning team
* Ability to manage multiple projects
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience with Project Management Software, Bluebeam, BIM, Revit, and Attainia
* Knowledge of ADA and facility guidelines for construction
* Travel required
