Job Description

The Borrower in Custody (BIC) specialist is responsible for the review of documentation against BIC pledging programs requirements. These programs allow for review of loans against eligibility criteria which are laid out by the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and loans that meet all eligibility criteria maybe pledged. This position would entail reviewing loan documentation for multiple pledging criteria using a checklist to determine if it meets the criteria to be pledged to the Federal Reserve. This position also requires interpersonal communication within the department and across various lines of business.

Responsibilities:

Integrates a solid understanding of industry and business standards and practices of loan agency processes
Applies professional judgment, analytical thinking and knowledge of criteria for BIC eligibility
Deals with most loan related problems independently and has some latitude to resolve complex issues
Day-to-day focus is on reviewing of complex loan documentation, where expertise is required to interpret against established guidelines.
Participates in, and supports the implementation of, projects as assigned, to support initiatives
Demonstrates an understanding of the loan review process to identify gaps in the process and support the streamlining of related work processes
Minimizes risk to the bank through a solid understanding of procedural requirements - provides solutions to reduce errors, and to adhere to audit and control policies
Timely management, escalation and resolution of all requests / inquiries / issues / errors related the BIC process.
Applies a solid understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-unit, and the wider Operation group

Provides informal guidance and/or on-the-job-training to new team members

Experience

* minimum 1-2 years relevant experience
* Utilizes communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues, management and business partners
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability read and interpret legal documentation.
* Strong organizational and prioritization and skills
* Self-starter able to work independently and part of a group

Education:

Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
