Job Summary

This position exists in the service delivery group inside the Telecom Services organization. Primary responsibilities include design, provisioning, delivery, documentation, and support of resilient, efficient connectivity services to meet business partner needs. The successful candidate is expected to be well-versed in the latest generation of telecommunication service delivery mediums and technologies: Fiber, RF/Microwave, MPLS, Switched Ethernet, DWDM, GPON, LTE, etc. The successful candidate is expected to display a team-based mindset and will often collaborate with others, both internal and external to the company, to deliver the best solution possible for the business partner need.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other technical discipline is preferred

* Five or more years of professional technology experience in direct support of telecommunications and connectivity services

* Experience provisioning and supporting services across different delivery technologies and vendor offerings: DWDM, MPLS, and Ethernet communication services across Ciena, Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Ericsson, and Adtran hardware platforms

* Experience partnering with telecommunication carriers and a deep understanding of carrier service offerings: MPLS, Switched Ethernet, other fiber-based solutions

* Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment where the ability to quickly embrace change is crucial for success

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Understanding and ability to enhance and adhere to documentation standards for logical telecommunication services. Documentation standards include site drawings/as-builts, GIS applications, and logical service repository applications

* Understanding and ability to enhance and adhere to telecommunication service invoicing mechanisms

* Understanding of Change Management procedures and change impact analysis

* Understanding of Request Management processes

* Ability to understand the business partner need and design, deliver, document, and support a telecommunications solution that meets that business need

* Ability to keep management systems and data repositories in sync with the environment as change occurs

* Ability to provision telecommunication services over different technologies, management environments, and data repositories: Nokia NSP/NFMP, Telenium, CLI, HP NA, GE PulseNet, IQLink, Adtran AOE, GIS/OSPInsight, etc.

* Understanding of rules and regulations that govern the use of technology such as NERC CIP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and FCC licensing is a plus

* Understanding of different telecommunications technologies and how they apply to management of electricity distribution and natural gas distribution

* General understanding of utility operations is strongly preferred: Natural Gas Storage/Distribution, Electricity Generation/Transmission/Distribution, Telecommunications Behavioral Attributes

Additional Information

Travel of up to 50% may be required if your primary work location is located outside of the Atlanta or Birmingham areas
