This Accountant position is responsible for performing financial accounting functions including, but not limited to assisting in the coordination of the closeout process, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, maintaining accounting processes documentation and providing detailed analysis of financial transactions and results to upper management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required

* CPA license is preferred, but not required

* Experience in performing analysis on financial transactions and results is required

* Experience with MS Office (specifically Excel and Word) is required

* Three to five years of accounting experience is preferred

* Strong knowledge of GAAP is required

* Experience with Oracle Financials and TM1 applications is a plus

* Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, proactive problem-solving skills and excellent follow through

* Effective written and verbal communication skills required

* Excellent team interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Prepare monthly accounting entries and related reconciliations in accordance with GAAP

* Prepare primary financial statements

* Prepare various internal accounting and financial reports

* Review financial results and provide analysis to management

* Provide research, information and assistance for special projects and data requests

* Maintain current documentation of accounting processes

* Assist both internal and external auditors with data requests

* Ensure internal controls surrounding responsibilities are adequate and functioning
