Job Description
Sealed Air is seeking a driven professional to fulfill our current opening in Duncan, South Carolina. The qualified candidate will report to the Director of Operations and be responsible for all aspects of equipment assembly and production. The position requires the planning and on-time execution of the production schedule, achieving Performance KPIs and Targets, ensuring adherence to company policies, addressing challenges affecting improved and sustained performance initiatives in all key areas, assigning resources as needed, as well as reporting performance and relevant issues into the daily integration meetings. The GPL champions the problem solving and continuous improvement process. The role requires the ability to handle multiple projects, work independently and interact with all levels of management.
Responsibilities:
* Ensures compliance with safety programs. Ensures all employees operate in a safe manner and use proper safety equipment appropriate for the tasks.
* Directs and manages the overall equipment production plan for the site. Responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipment.
* Evaluates performance and adjusts allocations of resources (e.g. personnel, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize the quality and quantity of equipment, machinery and components produced, and cost efficiency of operations.
* Manages hourly associates to ensure efficient performance of duties and compliance to company policy and procedures.
* Drives continuous process improvement through Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Addresses operational deficiencies and/or customer issues quickly using root cause and corrective action methodologies.
* Oversees employee training at the PESC production site, and ensures all activities are performed in compliance with established policies and procedures.
* Participates in and ensures full support for site audits as necessary.
* Integrates, standardizes, and maintains Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools.
* Communicates with co-workers, vendors, customers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
* Reviews production plans in coordination with sales, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing.
* Acts as liaison between various company departments in the resolution of manufacturing and production issues.
* Help create, manage, and achieve the overall area budgets
* Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college. (Degree in Business or Operations preferred)
* 10+ years of experience in Production roles; 5 years in supervisory roles
* Excellent oral and written communications skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff
* Self-motivated team player who can act with minimal direction
* Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups
* Detail-oriented individual who is highly organized
* In-depth knowledge and experience with MRP systems (SAP a plus), VMI, and Kanbans
* Proficient in standard business office software
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Good analytical and math skills
* Leadership and mentorship skills
* Skilled in problem solving/systems analysis
* Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in industrial equipment assembly and metal fabrication industry.
* Additional work experience in related production fields (e.g. Quality, Planning, or Manufacturing Engineering)
* Green Belt, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement training.
