Job Description

SCI is seeking a Business Development leader to help capitalize on the fast-growing Tactical Products market and to sustain and escalate the rate of SCIs recent business growth. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, driven and excited to grow a business with a strong base and an amazing path for growth. Due to the nature of our business US Citizenship is required.

Job Purpose

Responsible for developing new and existing customers to bring rapid growth to SCI Technology, Inc. (SCI), and specifically the Tactical Products business segment to the next level of success. The position requires an entrepreneurial, seasoned, business development manager with an excellent winning record. A background in the tactical vehicle market and technical knowledge of communications (data and voice) is highly desirable. Position involves extensive interaction with customers, company management, business development staff, in-house engineering, finance, contracts and proposal development teams that are focused on capturing new or existing business with customers. Must be able to plan and direct multiple capture efforts, while monitoring budget/spending.

Identify, target, qualify, and win new business with new and existing customers in order to meet and exceed revenue and margin objectives. Identify potential customers and analyze the customers business, mission, strategy, and operations in order to create and execute a winning strategy. The individual is highly adept at discerning the fit and specific value-add that SCI brings, and effectively interacts and creates relationships at the highest levels within customer organizations. She/he engages appropriate resources from cross-functional teams to ensure successful business execution, participates in team calls, proposal development, pricing presentations, consultative selling techniques, and order closing strategies. The person will also manage sales, budget, and forecast information used in the overall management of the company. Works as voice of the customer with SCIs Products Development team to introduce new products to the SCI portfolio that reflect customer roadmaps and strategic needs.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President, Products for SCI, the person selected for this role will have responsibility for bringing rapid, out-of-the box growth for SCI in the Defense & Aerospace industry. The Managers roles/responsibilities include:

Develop C-level relationships with key Aerospace & Defense Industry executives, Government and Congressional personnel.

Assist in development of long-term business and marketing strategy for SCI.

Management a small staff of business developers and/or sales representatives

Establish strategic business development initiatives, both program and M&A opportunities

Maintain intimate knowledge of government budget, budgeting and procurement processes

Develop and maintain business relationships with customers. Cultivate relationships that establish SCI consultative approach and promote its total solution capabilities within customers and potential customers organizations.

Understand SCI offerings for vertical and horizontal integration and direct customer appropriately towards additional or alternative SCI products or services

Develop, maintain and execute Business Development Campaigns for the Tactical Business segment.

Perform all necessary due diligence and market analysis required to assess the viability of the proposed new product/service offerings prior to presenting them to SCI management for consideration.

Track opportunities and conduct market intelligence.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree or higher, Masters degree preferred.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on business development background with a minimum of 12 years of proven business development experience in the Defense & Aerospace industry.

Military experience, while not an absolute requirement, is a plus.

Military communications experience, while not an absolute requirement, is a plus.

A current security clearance or eligibility/ability to obtain one is required.

A technical background is a plus.

Knowledge of electronic design, development and manufacturing a plus.

Strong business acumen developed through a combination of education and experience.

Should be able to demonstrate relationship building skills and be comfortable interacting with professionals at all organizational levels.

Solid negotiation skills are required for interaction with both customers and internal stake holders.

Demonstrate communication, presentation and business writing skills.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Availability for travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, as needed
