The Vehicle Evaluation and Verification team in Product Development is responsible for the signoff of vehicle systems and subsystems to meet engineering requirements by performing development and durability testing at multiple testing laboratory sites. The Engine and Fuel System Labs Facility Engineering activity which is part of VEV powertrain is looking for a detail oriented, self-starter to join our team. The prospective engineering analyst will be responsible for the successful design, delivery & support of facility/system engineering projects in for automotive engine & powertrain development and validation testing at the Dynamometer Laboratory Building and Research & Innovations Center Dyno/Components areas
What youll be able to do:
* Drive all sites to max level of automation with goal of 100% error detection and 0 false positives, including the research and integration/proliferation of new technology to all applicable labs.
* Support of all PVTL sites with a focus on complex software development in PUMA, ADACS, AutoTEST, Concerto, Product Test Data Management (PTDM), Combustion Analysis (CAS), Dynocal and LabVIEW/MDACS.
* Lead in creation and implementation of regional/global common test system architecture, including computers, I/O systems (fixed and CAN), and software solutions; work close with Indigenous lab personnel on systems integration with major infrastructure (power, water, drives, etc.)
* Identify / Create new hardware technologies that enable safe operation of unattended test systems.
* Support upgrade or decommission of all obsolete test site control systems
* Create feeds from test systems to broadcast real-time information to management and data systems and generate event notification (text/email)
* Support Next Generation Data Management System (PTDM) and Post-Processing Systems development with cross-lab implementation
* Work collaboratively with Corporate IT to ensure appropriate levels of independence, integration, and control are established on all systems
* Work with ELD Test/Facilities Engineering Team to support upcoming and ongoing tests
* Complete initial test setups for AutoTEST test rooms
* Develop associated PUMA test programs and required scripts
* Perform troubleshooting for AutoTEST, PTDM, ADACS, PUMA, CAS/X-Ion, ATI/ETAS, and ADACS spread sheets
* Resolve hardware and software problems
* Assist with data migration and processing
* Maintain associated library system and configuration files
* Develop system, test & facility required alarms and sequences
* Work with multiple customer groups to establish automation development priorities, focusing on providing the most favorable cost to benefit ratio for the procedures to be developed
The minimum requirements we seek:
* High School Diploma or GED
* 3+ years of combined experience in the following:
* Programming/scripting
* Computer systems
* Database architecture
* Website design/interface
* Networks (VPN)
* Data analysis and processing
* Unix/Linux/Windows Operating Systems
* Internal combustion engine operation, dynamometer testing and related test measurement systems
* 1+ years of experience in PUMA Data acquisition and control system and its corresponding scripting and tools
Our preferred requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
* Proficient in Python, C/C++, PERL, JAVA (JAVA Script), SQL, ADACS, PUMA, Concerto, Visual Basic and other programming platforms.
* Knowledge/experience with CAMEO
* Strong technical leadership, organization, teamwork and communication skills.
