In our efforts to build a novel Operating System, we are currently seeking an Engineering Manager - Cellular/Telephony to manage teams of engineers focused on building a cellular telephony stack. The ideal candidate has strong design and build skills, a passion for systems software, hands-on experience delivering programming runtimes to other developers, and experience with shipping hardware and software products. You are the kind of leader who has expertise building and supporting high-performance teams that create highly reliable, robust, and performant systems software. You have hands-on experience leading teams bringing up new, widely used programming platforms, runtimes and languages and have significant experience debugging and repairing complex, multi-component systems. You have a passion for shipping software that enables other developers to succeed on our platform.

Engineering Manager - Cellular/Telephony, Facebook Reality Labs XROS Responsibilities

* Build and manage a team responsible to integrate third party Cellular FW/SW deliverables (up to Android RIL level or similar) across Facebook Reality Labs.

* Responsible for design and implementation of all aspects of Cellular Products including Power, Thermal, SAR, MPE, CoEx, Cellular Performance, Certification and Operator requirements.

* Drive the support to RF and Wireless Systems team on low level driver integration, configuration and customization.

* Drive the support to our Wireless DVT and Certification teams on unit and system testing and automation of the different Cellular FW/SW deliverables.

* Actively drive teams in analysis & debugging of issues arising out of various system, field, conformance and operator certification campaigns.

* Drive the support to the different SW and OS product teams on the integration of the cellular stack with the Telephony services and Radio Interface Layer.

* Support the product architecture discussions on all the matters related to cellular stack features and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

* Experience of 10+ years on developing and/or integrating cellular modem FW on scale products.

* Experience of 3+ years on managing cellular modem FW teams.

* Experience with cellular (3G/4G/5G).

* Experience in embedded architecture (real-time operating system), external interfaces, product constraints, along with experience reviewing and guiding development of architectures/features that meet these constraints while providing new value for the platform.

* Experience with Telephony Software development as part of high level operating system such as Android or iOS.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with other wireless technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS.

* Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
