Work Hours/Shift:

Per Diem

You will be responsible for:

* Provides non-direct patient care support services for respiratory therapy department.
* Management and distribution of medical gas cylinders including inventory and cylinder transport to all patient care areas (including CVOR, Endoscopy, Main OR, Labor & Delivery, Radiology, Neonatal Transport and Cath Lab).
* Make daily rounds to assigned areas to deliver, check, change and set-up equipment.
* Maintain all respiratory supply areas to optimal par levels. Coordinates with Nursing unit leaders to maintain an organized stock/supply room.
* Frontline troubleshooting of all broken or damaged respiratory equipment including equipment removed from service by staff. Assists in the management of all rental equipment.
* Set up ventilator and critical care Bi-level breathing machines including routine operational system checks.
* Communication with Vendors/Reps and outside business partners regarding new equipment for the department. Includes ownership of bronchoscope exchange/repair process.
* Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis.
* Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.

Qualifications
What you will need:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Student enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited respiratory care program preferred.
* Previous experience in hospital setting preferred. Previous hospital materials management experience preferred.
* Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

Job Summary:

The respiratory care equipment technician works under the supervision of the respiratory department leadership team and with the guidance of licensed respiratory care practitioners to prepare, transport, set up and check respiratory care equipment in both routine and emergency situations including the management and distribution of medical gas cylinders to all patient care areas.
