Job Summary:

The Director, Segment Marketing develops, executes and refines the USBL commercialization of Segment strategies to drive equity, affinity, volume, sales, profit and share. This role will work with a cross-functional team including merchandising, sales, learning & development and finance and be a member of the Marketing leadership team. This position will also work closely with field teams to capture insights, and utilize feedback to innovate marketing approaches.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Business development marketing activities for the segment including the development of alliance/channel/network partnerships

* Working closely with the marketing team to coordinate inclusion in the overall marketing strategy including Digital Demand Generation, Social Media, Personalization & Culinary engagement

* Provides marketing strategy to inform segment approach

* Integrates with field marketing teams to ensure awareness, communication and alignment

* Competitor analysis, working with the insights team

* Working with culinary teams to develop recipes, tools, videos and other resources

* Creation of digital marketing strategies for deployment through the digital marketing team

* Media planning, analytics, and strategy, including ROAS.

* Prioritizes, Leads and Implements the consumption and socialization of Rich Content amongst cross functional stakeholders that supports Segment Strategies

* Creates Insights-based field ready marketing and sales tools and monitors their effectiveness by leveraging internal, core supplier and industry resources

* Stays abreast of trends impacting the segment business, monitor competitive activities and understand the key aspects of Sysco Brands and their potential within the Segment approach

* Responsible for evaluating marketing analytics for campaign refinement

* Brand licensing activities to expand brand presence within brand approved quality standards

* E-commerce segment marketing strategy, planning, and management

* Work with L&D priorities/projects to support Segment Marketing approaches

Education Required:

* Bachelors Degree

* Masters Degree or MBA preferred

* 8 years related experience or 5 years of category management, product management or merchandising experience within CPG, Retail or Foodservice industry. Must possess a proven track record of leading segment marketing approaches

Technical Skills and Abilities:

* Drive independently to accomplish desired results

* Able to engage and align a broad set of stakeholders

* Strong Excel and analytical skills are required

* Strong communicator with solid presentation skills and excellent relationship-building capabilities (customers/internal stakeholders)

* Ability to collaborate with multiple functions

* Ability to communicate and influence at various levels in the organization
