Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Hours

2nd shift: 2:00pm 10:30pm

SUMMARY: Performing as part of a team that maintains and repairs machines in a production setting, including preventive maintenance and identifying solutions to better meet performance goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

* Set up equipment or machines
* Adjust production machines and related equipment, according to maintenance schedule, manufacturer's service manuals and production tolerances
* Inspect machines and troubleshoot to detect potential malfunctions
* Replace repaired parts or install new parts to restore machine to operating condition
* Lubricate grease fittings and moving parts of machine and other preventive maintenance requirements as directed by supervisors
* Complete Preventive Maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
* Work within safety guidelines at all times
* Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
* Ability to learn new processes with minimal supervision
* Basic knowledge of electrical motors
* Ability to troubleshoot a variety of machines
* General knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, compressed air and welding
* Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
* Understand and follow oral and written direction
* Ability to work independently and as a team
* Ability to perform duties listed on Mechanic Level I checklist
* Strong mechanical background required
* Must be at least 18yrs of age
* Authorized to work in the U.S.

Education and/or Experience:

* Associates degree in Mechanics/Automotive or Electrical Technology preferred
* 1-2 years experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Automotive Mechanic

Communication Skills:

* Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to communicate well

Physical Requirements / Environment:

* Stand/Walk: Continuously throughout shift
* Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)
* Other Physical Requirements:
* Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
* Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40 F)
* working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor, some tight or confined space areas
