Job Description:
Our multi-disciplinary Algorithm and Simulation integrated product team consists of Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Signal Processing; and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for Performance Analysis. Our Signal Processing engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and integrating Radar and Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) algorithms, conducting system trades/sensitivity analyses, and conducting performance assessments to support our products and new business initiatives.
U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Key Tasks:
* Working in simulations written in C/C++ and MATLAB to develop, prototype, and test radar and/or EO/IR signal processing algorithms
* Conducting performance trades and sensitivity analyses for radar and/or EO/IR applications
* Working in production, lab test, and field test environments to test, verify, and validate radar and/or EO/IR signal processing algorithm requirements and performance
* Working in a team environment in all phases of product development from program start up to live fire test, to provide engineering support by participating in project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers
Required Education/Skills:
* Experience with C or C++
* Experience with MATLAB or Python
* Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree.
* Must currently hold at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
* Must have completed at least 90 credit hours toward one of the required degrees.
* U.S. Citizenship is required
This position is a Salary Grade ST04 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
ST04 (Senior Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college.
Desired Skills:
* ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
* Course work or experience in one or more of the following fields: radar & image signal processing, digital communications, probability and statistics, linear algebra, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and signals & systems
* Knowledge of basic physics and its application to modeling and analysis
* Experience using UNIX/Linux based workstations
* Knowledge of statistics
* Familiarity and knowledge of system engineering and analysis
* Debugging/Analysis methodologies in optimizing application performance
* Ability to read, debug, edit and create computer programming code to develop and enhance simulation models
* Ability to work well in teams of varying disciplines and multi-task
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
* Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
* Current/Active DoD clearance or SSBI
