Raytheon Intelligence and Space is currently seeking a Senior Field Engineer I with a current TS/SCI security clearance w/CI poly for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate(s) will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate(s) will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's results.
Job Duties:
Work in an adaptable small team environment (2-10 people)
Create and/or execute a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems
Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand
Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies
Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team
Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various software and hardware subsystems
Perform trending and analysis of technical data
Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries
Manage and oversee documentation and implementation of certification training program
Support test activities as necessary
Assess, document, and submit contract team impacts to planned activities documented in change documentation
Provide weekly customer briefings
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must have proven experience performing work successfully in a collaborative environment with other organizational domains
Must have demonstrated experience with executing assigned tasks to meet technical objectives
This position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such:
Availability for non-scheduled call-in is required
The job assignment requires working a combination of daystaff and shift schedules based on the dynamic needs of the team
Availability to work overtime is required
Desired Skills:
Previous satellite Operations experience
Experience working a rotating shift schedule
Experience giving and receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles
Experience working in a virtual team environment
Experience using both Windows and UNIX platforms
Experience with Perl, VBA, or other scripting languages
Experience performing technical data analysis
Knowledge or expertise in orbital mechanics
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors' degree in related field plus a minimum 4 years' of prior relevant/military work experience or 12 years' experience in lieu of degree.
