Required Skills:
* Works from preliminary engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, specifications and formulas requiring interpretation and application of experience and knowledge to choose the most appropriate method to meet laboratory and production requirements.
* Chooses sequence of highly complex operations, tests and methods of layout. Fabricates and tests completely to exacting tolerances, various plastic materials, moldings, castings, encapsulations, filament windings and laminates.
* Conducts and supports tests involving new and improved technologies of molding, casting, encapsulating, filament winding, laminating, bonding, and the application of parting agents, coatings and adhesives.
* Operates, or provides assistance to lower classified employees in the operation of large high pressure presses, ovens, vacuum chambers or related equipment, requiring background, experience and skill in the field of plastics operations to prevent damage to equipment or casualties and hazards to personnel.
* Makes decisions subject to review and approval governing the interpretation and application of Company and customer specifications.
