We have the unique and significantrole to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of everyhuman spaceflight program the International Space Station (ISS), NASAs Orionspacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, and Gateway, theorbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back andforth to the moons surface, and serving as the platform for deep spaceexploration. From critical systems onthe ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanceddevelopment for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of thefoundation for Gateway.
We also partner with NASA at JSC,the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samplesreturned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbitaldebris analysis, and basic research to further humankinds understanding of theorigins of our solar system.

This position reports to the General Manager ofthe Clear Lake Group and is responsible for all aspects of flight systems safetyand mission assurance.
This individual leads a diverse team of systems safety,quality and configuration management professionals to provide mission assuranceto all aspects of Clear Lake Group operations in accordance with federal andstate laws, NASA and JSC requirements and Jacobs standard operatingprocedures. An individual who is wellqualified for this position will possess strong leadership and communicationskills, a strong aerospace technical background with a focus on systemsengineering, and the proactive attitude required to lead an effort of thisscale. Success in this role alsorequires process-oriented thinking, the ability to drive continuous improvementand the flexibility and personnel-development skills to provide a wide varietyof services with a small team.
The successful candidate will possess strategicand critical thinking skills to provide agility in the negotiation of flighthardware process approaches within the confines of contract requirements. To this end, demonstrated proficiency in therapid negotiation and resolution of process conflicts is paramount.
The Manager of the Mission Assurance Office will:
* Provide direct management of the Mission Assurance Office; providing oversight, assistance, performance evaluation and development of employees.
* Advise the CLG General Manager and senior management on government, customer, corporate, and project-specific safety and quality requirements and issues.
* Work with management to ensure all personnel operate within the established safety and quality framework to deliver quality work and safely conduct operations.
* Perform annual reviews of program effectiveness and performance with respect to flight safety and quality requirements and identify specific areas of focus for continuous improvement through the annual CLG Business Plan.
* Oversee the CLG Mission Assurance Mishap Investigation process, including assisting supervisors in investigating project-level mishaps, formulating recommendations to prevent recurrences, and reporting results to the General Manager.
* Ensure the product quality and requirements compliance of CLG products and services, including those products and services provided by subcontractors.
* Oversee the development of Acceptance and Certification Data Packages and other flight certification and contract delivery documentation for flight hardware.
* Oversee the development of Safety Data Packages for flight hardware.
* Provide procurement quality assurance services to apply subcontract quality requirements and verifications for all CLG procurements.
* Oversee CLG participation in the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) in accordance with contract requirements to ensure product quality.
* Oversee the CLG training system to ensure the proper certification and training of all employees.
* Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
Thisposition has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidatesexperience, requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to considercandidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
* BSdegree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum offourteen (14) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from anaccredited engineering school and twelve (12) years of direct engineeringexperience, or Ph.D. degrees and nine (9) years direct engineering experience.
* Requiresdemonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior Project Management or supervisoryexperience of high performance teams.
* Excellentoral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinatesupport from a wide range of technical disciplines.
* Requiresthe ability to interpret and manage complex contract requirements with multiplecustomers.
* Experiencein Systems Engineering and Integration in an aerospace environment.
* Familiaritywith the development and delivery of aerospace flight systems safety products.
* Knowledgeof requirements and processes for the certification and acceptance of hardwareand software for space flight.
* Demonstrateddesire for the continuous improvement of processes and capabilities.
* Experiencein leading mishap investigations with demonstrated understanding of Root CauseAnalysis methods.
* Experiencein the Configuration Management of delivered products.
DesiredQualifications
* ProjectManagement experience
* Knowledgeof the Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) process is highly desired.
* In-depthunderstanding of SAE AS9100D principles and the execution of internal andexternal audits.
* Knowledgeof the operation and performance of Learning Management Systems to ensure thatcontract and corporate training requirements are met and maintained for allJETS employees.
* Experiencein the focused application of quality requirements for procurements of spaceflight, machined and hazardous components with an excellent understanding ofsupply chain management.
