Basic Job Functions:

The Quality Control Coordinator must be current or the ability to obtain AWS CWI certification and CWB qualified welding supervisor. Responsibilities include:

* Working with third party accreditation agencies to ensure audits are conducted and that CBC complies with the various accreditation standards (IAS, CWB, AISC, LADBS, Clark County, etc.).
* Maintenance of the documented quality system including the Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions and shop quality forms, etc.
* Developing and maintaining weld procedures and welding personnel qualifications in accordance with AWS and CWB standards.
* Leading internal quality audits to monitor the effectiveness of the quality system and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
* Assuring that in process inspections are executed throughout the production facility and sufficient to maintain high level of product quality and that material receiving inspections are conducted and that MTRs are being reviewed.
* Conduct quality system management review meetings to report on and discuss the quality system effectiveness and adequacy.
* Maintaining equipment and tool calibration and verification schedules and quality records in accordance with a record retention matrix.
* Backup to the environmental and safety coordinator(s) when necessary.
* Perform various duties as assigned by the General Manager and the Production Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

* A welding or quality assurance degree or two years quality control experience.
* Background in computer use with Microsoft office.
* Pass annual visual acuity test.
* Ability to travel overnight to jobsites, training, auditing or meetings.
* Positive attitude and teamwork skills.

This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
