WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Technical Developer 1 to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team and help drive product excellence. As our Footwear Tech Developer I Catalyst Nike by You Footwear you'll assist in driving project and process direction within the project team. You will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the team and the consumer. The candidate needs to be a quick learner, exhibit leadership qualities, and demonstrate a positive attitude. He or she must have experience working and adapting within the Nike matrix of product creation.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will guide and follow through on the decision-making process that leads to timely product confirmation and sample delivery. You'll execute footwear development according to critical dates and performance/profitability goals. You'll ensure manufacturability of product concepts and utilize footwear knowledge and instruments to optimally and appropriately achieve project designs. You'll apply fundamental understanding of category best practices to identify product and testing requirements and assure product performance through product testing when necessary. You will recommend and specify material, component and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals. In addition, you'll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, can be commercialized, manufactured, while meeting design intent performance, costing and sustainability goals.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a member of the Catalyst Nike by You team, you will work with key functional partners like: Product Design, Product Management, Operations, etc. You will report to the Footwear Development Director in Catalyst footwear. You will need to navigate and utilize the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Footwear Development best practices for product excellence. You will also be a key point of contact for our Factory and PMO partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

WHAT YOU BRING

* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering or a related field
* 2 additional years' relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
* 1-year combined project management experience. (In lieu of degree, two years of additional relevant experience required.)
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
* Experience in project management and problem-solving concepts and application.
* Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle
* Demonstrates base-level understanding of Consumer Product or Hardgoods and knowledge:
* of footwear pattern engineering, tooling or manufacturing processes.
* to identify & suggest cost effective solutions.
* of materials, test methods, and properties and application.
* to read technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files.
* Experience testing and validating product for manufacturability and performance
* Creative problem-solving skills
* Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
