Job Title: Sourcing Manager, Writing
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports To: Sr Manager, Sourcing

General Responsibility:
The Sourcing Manager will work with the Sr. Manager of Sourcing & the Asia Sourcing Execution and have responsibility for category management, while leading the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for Sourced Finished Goods (SFG) for the Writing business segment. This position will be an active driver and contributor of productivity, working capital improvements, continuity of supply, sustainability, and all other commercial needs. Major internal customers within the business include associates from Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, & Supplier Quality. Additionally, the Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and deploying best practice sourcing processes and tools for use by the strategic sourcing group.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Writing categories that encompass the following:
o Productivity: Develop pipeline opportunities and drive timely implementation to ensure delivery of annual gross productivity targets
o Direct Negotiations & Market Events: including but not limited to market driven negotiation, benchmark leverage, geographical optimization, dual sourcing, tier 2 supplier management
o SFG Supplier Assessments: New supplier qualification, financial health assessments, capability verification
o Working capital improvements: Payment terms extensions and/or discounts, lead time optimization, inventory reductions
o Supply Chain Optimization: Reducing risk in source of supply, MOQ reduction, lead time reductions, shipping optimization
o Sustainability - Coordinate activities to support Newell Sustainability initiatives related to Sourced Finished Goods
Responsible for commercial activities with designated suppliers including but not limited to the following:
o Contract Management
o Annual Negotiations
o Supplier Performance Management
o Product / Part Qualification
o RFX Development and Deployment
o Regulatory & Social Compliance
Accountable for utilizing the NWL Supplier Scorecard to develop and improve supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, cost and responsiveness
Supplier and commodity spend management and productivity tracking
Sourcing process improvement initiatives as assigned

Interpersonal Expectations:
Works well with minimal supervision in a mutually supportive, collaborative, fast-paced team environment. Plans, organizes, and influences the efforts of domestic and global suppliers as well as a variety of internal functional groups within the organization. Contributes and influences critical business decisions and directions. Performs a broad scope of work assignments to accomplish business team objectives. Candidate's integrity must be beyond reproach. Ability to manage a small team or individual employee.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of applicable experience including extensive knowledge in global sourcing and supply base management
Desired experience in procurement of consumer products
Excellent negotiation and project leadership skills
Demonstrated track record of delivering productivity and other measurable results within SFG categories
Global Sourced Finished Good sourcing experience in consumer products or commodities is preferred
Understands global commodity trends and market influences
Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal and analytical skills
Highly motivated and able to drive results independently and as part of a team
Preferably two or more years of SAP software experience
Approximately 15% global travel required
