Microsoft Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) has an immediate opening for an experienced Immigration Specialist (Paralegal) to join our U.S. Immigration Team. The U.S. Immigration Team provides legal and strategic U.S. immigration counsel to HR and Microsoft businesses worldwide, drives immigration compliance, and supports the immigration needs of foreign national employees and their families. As a U.S. Immigration Specialist, you will be passionate about employee engagement, identifying and solving complex problems, and helping our businesses achieve their most important strategic goals by bringing the best talent to Microsoft.

Primary Duties:

* Engage daily with visa-dependent employees, promoting positive business interactions, and fostering long-term relationships with Microsoft's employees, management, and HR
* Contribute to the development of creative immigration solutions and alternatives, enabling Microsoft's visa-dependent population to take bold actions towards achieving business objectives
* Lead varied employee engagement initiatives to improve the experience and interactions of employees, managers, and the company with the U.S. Immigration Team
* Advise on daily immigration operations, proactively assessing and planning for regulatory changes that may impact the program and/or visa-dependent employees
* Assist with the review and analysis of information and/or documentation drafted for submission as well as the submission of petitions/applications with appropriate U.S. government agencies
* Partner with immigration attorneys and business program managers to solve complex immigration and process issues
* BA/BS and 4+ years of employment-based immigration experience in a fastu2010paced, highu2010volume, teamu2010oriented environment
* Prior U.S. employmentu2010based immigration experience (IV and NIV filings), preferably in the tech industry
* Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately while identifying possible solutions
* Experience managing and prioritizing high volumes of inquiries from foreign nationals, clients, and teammates
* Ability to work independently, while also being a strong collaborator with a variety of personalities across many diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures
* Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fastu2010paced environment, prioritize workflow and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations
* Ability to collaborate and partner effectively with others as a member of a legal services team
