Bolivar Medical Center

PRN positions require a candidate who will come when needed for their department. PRN's do not have set or guaranteed hours. As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, LPN's provide direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. These practices will include:

Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.

Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer

medication. Documents patient care given.

Assists RN with development of plan of care.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Associates Degree
Bachelor's Preferred

Required Licenses
[Mississippi, United States] Licensed Practical Nurses
Current Mississippi licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN); or current Compact State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN)

Required Skills
Must have an updated American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support (BLS). If employee does not have a current BLS at time of hire or transfer, then employee will have one month from day of hire, or transfer, to obtain, or update, BLS certification
