The CTO Office is looking for Executive Director to be the head of Architecture and Engineering to lead the development and maintenance of the firms enterprise technology service and tech data platforms. This position is responsible for the enterprise service and tech data ecosystem, with a primary focus on architecture, engineering, and ownership of the technical enterprise delivery in alignment with the banks strategic objectives and modernization needs. Additionally, the Head of Architecture and Engineering will focus on relationship and stakeholder management, technical and process risk management, proactive issues resolution processes, and driving tools and process innovation. This role reports directly to the Global Head of Enterprise Technology Services & Tech Data Management and provides a unique opportunity to work closely with leaders of functional areas, technical stakeholders from across the organization, and other key firm executives.
Engineering and Technical Delivery Responsible for managing the engineering team to build and maintain a resilient, robust, and scalable enterprise platform(s), including integration pipelines, master and reference data, governance tooling, security and privacy framework implementation, etc.
Architecture Manage an architecture team that is responsible for building and maintaining architectural blueprints and documentation and plan for proactive updates to ensure that the service ecosystem can meet current and future needs of the bank. Drive high performance and accountability for superior results and employee engagement.
Lead by example, provide staff with timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; recognize and reward employees for accomplishments.
Tech Data Management Ensure master and reference data processes and tooling are accurately defined, efficiently stored, and kept current in order to support rapidly growing technology and service needs.
Innovation Monitor market and industry trends, and evaluate new solutions, methods, and technologies for supporting modernization.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
Who We Want
For this position, a minimum of 15+ years in an architecture or engineering role is required and 7+ years of experience building and leading high-performing teams
5+ years in financial services and/or in highly regulated industries is preferred
A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
Extensive experience in building and operating on-prem and/or cloud-based platform solutions. Hands-on experience with Service Now, Flexera, Azure, AWS, Google highly desired
Extensive experience in professional software engineering practices and SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, advanced testing (chaos eng) and operations
Demonstrated ability to design, deliver scalable and sustainable architecture solutions at scale, globally distributed
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, i.e., C, C++, Java, or Python
Cloud migration, re-platforming, and infrastructure/application modernization experience is a plus
Experience managing and growing an IT, Architecture and/or engineering team
Strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills
