GDIT is seeking a System Database Specialist to help an exciting new contract, Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS). NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding.
The System Database Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for the configuration, installation, upgrade, migration, and maintenance of databases.
* Responsible for quality control and audits of databases to confirm the accuracy and functionality of data.
* Monitors database systems and resources to ensure that the database is available and performing at the optimum level.
* Performs backups, maintains logs; installs database software upgrades; restores and/or recovers data as needed.
* Consults on a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, maintenance/conversion and capacity planning.
* Works with management to develop database strategies based on customers' requirements.
* Recommends testing and tuning of databases to increase functionality and efficiency.
* Disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data.
* Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database.
* Evaluates and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products.
* Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.
* Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Active Top Secret Clearance
* DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (or comparable industry certifications)
* Bachelor of Science degree
* 6 years experience
* Experience in a Cloud Service Offering environment
The likely salary range for this position is $99,200 - $148,800, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
