The Senior Specialist will facilitate the safe and efficient operations throughout various lab facilities and will serve as a subject matter expert for lab related activities. The Senior Specialist will work with Lab Leads/Lab Manager and the engineering group (under the direction of the Lab Manager) to perform technical and non-technical lab activities. Technical activities include working alongside the engineering groups to develop test platforms that are critical to lab testing. Non-technical activities include assisting Lab/Lead/Lab Manager in the day-to-day operational lab activities. The Senior Specialist must work independent of specific instruction and procedures while adhering to company policy and will be responsible for providing guidance to management regarding lab(s) operations.

* Design and fabricate test platforms for Asset & Engineering Strategy (A&ES) Engineering
* Perform procurement of lab assets and lab infrastructure
* Perform low voltage electrical work for the installation and removal of data acquisition systems
* Propose, create and enforce operational and safety procedures for specific lab activities
* Assist in the management of external vendors while on SCE sites
* Provide insight to corrective and preventative action activities and play a key role as principle investigator in quality assurance issues
* Oversee lab activities at our Shawnee/Equipment Demonstration & Evaluation Facility (EDEF) Sub-Station outdoor/indoor test facility
* Responsible for the overseeing of the calibration and maintenance assets for all ASI labs
Qualifications
The essentials
* Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience with electrical theory, safety, and design
* Experience managing vendors and vendor activities as they relate to Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO)
* Experience developing technical, safety and operational documentation
The preferred
* Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or related field
* Experience working in a laboratory facility/operation setting
* Experience with quality management systems and in the quality assurance field
* Familiarity with electric utility work methods regarding medium and high voltage electric circuits
* Demonstrated basic knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
* Knowledge working with electric utility power systems
* Good written and oral communication/presentation skills

* The primary work location for this position is (Westminster, Fenwick), however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at the Pomona TSD/PIV1 & Shawnee site.
* This position may require moving equipment weighing up to 25lbs
* Position may require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
