Summary:

The Dover Precision Components (DPC) Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records are maintained to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The role will support the Assistant Controller and coordinate with key stakeholders such as Site Finance Managers and Internal Controls Manager. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact between Dover Business Services (DBS), Dovers shared service organization and the Operating Company, DPC. The Accountant will act as a technical coach to the Junior Accountant.

Responsibilities:

* Accurately prepare assigned general ledger entries, maintain detailed records/support and prepare account reconciliations as assigned.
* Responsible for managing assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
* Apply technical knowledge and judgement to manage special projects as required.
* Independently evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in methods and procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounting department in a continuous improvement environment.
* Assist with maintaining procedures and controls are operating as designed to comply with Dover Core Internal Controls (CIC), internal/external audits and with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
* Build and maintain relationship with DBS and business stakeholders acting as an escalation point to resolve any complex discrepancies.
* Support the Junior Accountant providing a primary point of contact on complex accounting matters.
* Responsible for representing the Accounting department in special projects as assigned

* Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
* High attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
* Prior experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as Syteline, Oracle etc.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance related field required.
* Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
* The ideal candidate has obtained or is pursuing a CPA certification

Working Conditions:

General Office. Travel, including overnight, approximately 0-5%.
