Job Description

Key Responsibilities

* Strong background in technology and innovation

* Engineering leadership experience with system engineering and new technology teams

* Management of an engineering group to develop new technology focused on vacuum chamber, vacuum isolation, and clean automation integration for new SOTA mainframes/platforms.

* Manage, develop, plan and execute complex engineering development projects to address a range of internal, industry, or customer specific HVPs

* Guides research and development programs of new technologies relating to mechanical engineering as appropriate, and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies can be incorporated into Applied Materials products/services.

* Provides management with updates pertaining to progress in specific programs and initiatives, and assures that information required in other functional areas is disseminated appropriately

* Experience making tough strategic tradeoff decisions

* Interface with internal and external customers regarding extremely complex engineering issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products and/or processes

* Establishes operational objectives and assignments, and effectively delegate assignments to subordinate staff. Responsible for professional development, team building, defining organizational roles, hiring and retention.

* Strong communication skills

* Ability to balance and shift priorities

* Able to work in cross-functional teams

* International and domestic travel required
