The Volunteer Services Specialist works closely with the Community Outreach/Event Specialist to facilitate the activities at the OptumCare Community Center. Is accountable for monitoring Community Centers guests and ensuring all rules and protocols are followed. Is responsible for the growth and development of the Volunteer Services Program and Community Center. This specialist will work closely with The Jewish Family Service Agency & other non-profit agencies to find more volunteers & volunteer opportunities. This specialist will also oversee the Friendly Caller program in addition to developing new programs within Volunteer Services. This specialist will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, & compliance of Volunteers.

This specialist will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, & compliance of Volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Assist the Clinical Operations Manager with establishing Volunteer Services & Community Center policies & protocols.
* Assist in the facilitation of activities at the Community Center
* Works directly with Community Outreach/Event Specialist to develop outreach strategy, advises on marketing message to ensure alignment with SMA and Optum goals, submitting work orders for events and monthly calendars, and distribution of marketing materials and information re: upcoming events to internal and external partners, senior participants, etc.
* Responsible for the growth & development of the Volunteer Services Program.
* Creates & prepares real-time detailed reporting of team assignments, hours, compliance, trainings, & outcomes.
* Responsible for all programming (i.e. classes, activities, special events, etc.) and coordinating for both Community Center East and West.
* Represents the Community Centers at various outreach events and health fairs throughout the community, as assigned.
* Establishes and maintains relationships with other agencies, organizations and schools in the community for programming and resourcing to develop programs for internships/volunteer opportunities.
* Supervise, on-board, train, & provide assignments for Volunteers
* Lead recruitment efforts to grow Volunteer Services through presentations, networking, etc.
* Develops contacts and utilizes community resources to provide adjunct support services to enhance program delivery.
* Maintain & foster a positive environment to retain Community Centers' attendees & volunteers.
* Setup preparation prior to event and securing equipment and physical space as part of event closeout process.
* Hosting after-hours and weekend events, as needed

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma
* MS Office proficiency
* Valid Nevada driver's license and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
* Experience working in a social club (senior based) and/or experience in the hospitality industry.
* Customer Service experience
* You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive VoiceResponse (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree
* Experience working in a volunteer services program
