Job Description

Seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part time Laboratory Analyst position in the Chemical and Environmental Laboratory at the Longview, TX plant site.

This is a limited service, temporary, position. The individual who fills this role will not be eligible for benefits. Work schedules may vary from a 40-hour work week at times, or may be intermittent or reduced schedule based on business needs.

This position may have potential opportunities to move into regular full time positions as a Laboratory Analyst or Technician for qualified candidates

Analysts work under the direction of a Team Manager. The analyst is responsible for performing testing on routine and non-routine samples using chemical analysis techniques including:

Gas chromatography

Titrations and other wet chemical analyses

Ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopy

Viscosity measurements, Softening Point and other polymer analyses

Total halogen, sulfur and nitrogen testing

Flashpoint testing

Analysts are also responsible for monitoring the quality of test results using statistical process control techniques, investigating failing results, calibrating and maintaining test equipment. Work is conducted in an environment regulated by ISO and cGMP standards.

Education: Candidates with an A.S. degree in chemistry or B.S. in physical science are preferred

Other Requirements: Candidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and a minimum of two years of directly related experience or a physical science associates or bachelor's degree.
