SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

* Develop, Configure, and support compute solutions that meet business needs and align with Corning technology standards

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Serve as a SME for compute technologies, with an emphasis on Red Hat Linux
* Develop and test technical solutions with guidance from Domain Architects
* Implementation of new solutions or upgrades to existing solutions including communications, documentation and training
* Create or approve solution design documentation based on technical and functional specifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

* BS in computer science or related field of an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

WORK EXPERIENCE

* 5+ years of experience in cloud system administration, with a focus on Linux (RHEL) platforms
* Previous experience with overseeing managed service providers for building and deploying technical solutions, and managing successfully to outcomes
* Previous experience with deploying hybrid or multi-cloud solutions with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Red Hat cluster expertise
* Oracle clustering
* Server deployment automation
* Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
* Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
* Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
* Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
* Must be a self starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others
