Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG) is responsible for independently overseeing the management of market risk (inclusive of price risk) exposures (including monitoring and reporting on aggregate market and counterparty risk exposures across groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions), and the quality of market risk management practices across the company.
The Corporate Market Risk Oversight (CMRO) group within the Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG) is responsible for providing independent identification, review, analysis and monitoring of market risks of tradable assets across Wells Fargo Corporation.
Oversight officers work closely with multiple lines of business and related trading desks as well as Risk Analytics, Technology, Finance and other business partners. They play a key role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all market risk measurements including regulatory Value-at-Risk (VaR), management VaR, stress scenarios, and capital. CMRO team members develop, generate and monitor reports for desk and business-specific risks.
This position will be focused primarily on the Municipal Products Group within the Markets Division of Wells Fargo Securities. Additionally, a successful candidate will be able to provide support to CMRO team members covering other business areas.
Primary responsibilities for the position include will include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Produce and monitor periodic risk reports and assist with ongoing monitoring / analysis of risks. Daily reporting and analysis will require some programming skills.
* Maintain Risk Mandates governing the appropriate activities and allowable risk in Municipal Trading, identifying and escalating any breaches.
* Evaluate VaR, Stress, Capital, Disaster Scenarios and other analytics to identify and resolve issues or problems.
* Cultivate and grow constructive relationships with the respective trading desk and support partners.
* Provide commentary to senior management on risk exposures and related P&L.
* Collaborate with the front office and support partners on new product initiatives and recommend / implement an appropriate risk control framework.
* Partner with other risk disciplines (credit, counterparty, compliance, operational), both corporate and business to ensure adequate independent risk coverage and compliance with risk limits.
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: market risk, capital markets, trading, or interest rate risk
Other Desired Qualifications
* Public Finance, Municipal Market and or Fixed Income experience
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Prior experience and strong working knowledge in computer programming languages such as SQL, Python, VBA
* Prefer 2+ years of risk management experience
* Knowledge of a variety of asset classes and trading products; specifically fixed income and derivatives
* Knowledge and experience with Market Risk methods and measures (VaR, Greeks, stress simulations, etc.)
* A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, mathematical finance, or economics
* Progress towards related graduate programs; Masters of Business Administration, Masters in Financial Engineering, Masters in Quantitative Finance
* Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation is preferred or Financial Risk Management Certificate (FRM)
Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
