Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Responsibilities:
* Contributes to Operations leadership team in complex, regulated-QMS, biotech manufacturing environment through decision making, project evaluation, and engineering equipment support.
* Creates and manages to an operational budget for team consisting of manufacturing engineers and project managers.
* Designs, develops and manages new, complex, equipment and processes. Identifies and solves engineering problems. Project manages transfer of processes from site to site, including process and equipment validation.
* Manages process improvements, utilizing PPI, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Creates work center performance goals and leads work center and each individual towards achieving those goals using employee participation. Manages individual performance to ensure achievement of goals.
* Prepares and delivers full performance evaluations for all direct reports.
* Identifies and provides developmental opportunities for high potential employees. Regularly meets with employees and assists with the creation of individual development plans.
* Provides continuous coaching to all employees for the purpose of improving their job skills and professional behaviors.
* Makes technical and business risk decisions under real-time pressure.
* Has accountability for department operations when Senior Management is not on site.
* Ensures department is operating within company policies and procedures.
* Acts as subject matter expert during customer and regulatory agency audits.
* Responds to internal and external audit observations and identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
* Interacts with diverse internal functional groups to solve moderately complex problems.
* Initiates investigations into process failures, product failures, and safety incidents, and identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
* Interviews/hires manufacturing technicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering environment, with at least three years of management experience/direct supervision of staff.
* Bachelor2019s degree in engineering or project management. Master2019s degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
* One or more advanced business, Six Sigma, and project management degrees or certifications strongly preferred, such as MBA, CSSBB, and PMP
* Strong leadership abilities with capability to leverage diverse resources, respond quickly, understand impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships, and understand customer2019s needs
* Strong people development skills, ability to develop team
