Technical Program Manager, Business Messaging

The Ads and Business Platform (ABP) team creates meaningful connections between our billions of users and tens of millions of advertisers and local businesses. Technical Program Managers in ABP work with teams of talented engineers, product managers, data scientists, and other cross-functional team members to build easy-to-use and effective advertising, commerce, and consumer experiences for businesses across our family of Facebook Apps (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Audience Network, and WhatsApp). We are looking for experienced technical leaders who can support complex multi-platform development efforts at consumer scale, while maintaining clarity of product vision and organizational awareness. As a product TPM, you'll commit to hands-on learning the team's technology, breaking down product requirements into engineering milestones. Youll communicate progress and drive program execution effectively through cross-functional collaboration to achieve business goals. You are an integral part of the team who can drive system architectural discussions, and make future-proof decisions that align with product strategy and vision. Customer Connections Customer Connections team is part of the Business Messaging pillar within ABP. Business Messagings mission is to be the primary way that people and businesses communicate. Building modern, messaging-first, and customer-centric tools is an integral part towards that mission. Customer Connections teams vision is to make interactions between people and businesses more personal. We believe that we can uniquely help millions of businesses in our ecosystem understand and gain the relevant context on their customers such that businesses can engage with their customers just as though they were engaging with a friend.

Technical Program Manager, Business Messaging Responsibilities

* Set the overall strategy and technical vision in building a large-scale, privacy-aware infrastructure of customer knowledge to power the business messaging use cases and experiences.

* Establish shared goals with product teams across the company to get alignment and drive optimal results for businesses, people, partners, and Facebook.

* Provide hands-on program management to support the full product development cycle.

* Understand product requirements and translate those into execution plans.

* Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.

* Own joint technical roadmap and prioritization by collaborating with engineering and cross-functional partners.

* Manage upstream and downstream communications for programs to keep partner teams, and stakeholders informed.

* Proactively identify, mitigate and manage risks to ensure success.

* Drive internal process improvements across multiple-teams and functions.

Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer Science or proven software application development experience.

* Experience working across functions to deliver technical programs or products from inception to delivery.

* Experience in software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management.

* Experience communicating and representing work to senior leadership and framing discussions to gain valuable feedback and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.

* Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.

* Experience establishing and leading teams through multi-disciplinary relationships including product management and engineering to drive product impact.

Preferred Qualifications

* Industry experience working with large-scale infrastructure/systems.

* ML or AI domain experience.
