Under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director the qualified person will provide direction and oversee daily operations, management of the biomedical equipment program, provide leadership and participate in a continious quality improvement and procurement of medical equipment. Ensure that elements of the program are designed and implemented to comply with The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Duties include safety inspections, preventive maintenance testing and repair of mid to high level or specialized medical equipment, the management the biomedical equipment program and the management of at least one account. Individuals must have an excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic or electrical theory. Individuals must have a good understanding of physiology and regulatory standards and a working knowledge of Company policies regarding account management, supervision, and accountability. Has contact with equipment users, customer management, and Company staff and management. Requires little supervision.

* Reporting to safety committee
* Managing equipment recalls
* Implementing and monitoring of goals for improvement
* Review of historical data entered into the TMS medical equipment data base.
* Evaluation of equipment for service contracts
* Training / Education of staff
* Annual reviews and skills assessments
* Communicating with hospital personnel, department managers, and C suite.
* Maintaining and review of the Medical Equipment Management Plan
* Involvement in the procurement of medical equipment
* Maintaining an accurate inventory data base for the medical equipment
* Compliance with The Joint Commission standards
* Follow safe practices relating to infection control, hazardous materials and mechanical loads and industry compliance standards
* Managing and approval of outside service, repairs, and/or parts purchases.
* Available for on call rotation after hours and weekends as scheduled
* Repair and preventative maintenance of medical equipment
* And additional services as required

Minimum Requirements

Education/Training:

Required: Associates degree related to biomedical equipment technology, electronics, military training equivalent or 5+ years BMET experience. Computer science skills are a plus.

Preferred: Specialty Training, Anesthesia or Respiratory Ventilators, CBET

Job Knowledge/Experience:

Required: Strong leadership qualities and BMET experience or equivalent

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to write reports, effectively communicate with customers, multi-levels of personnel as well as vendor representatives.
* Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Preferred: One to three years in a management position

License(s):

Required: Valid Drivers License in the state of residency

Required: Ability to read, write and speak English
