How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
This position works in unison with internal Operations Control Center (OCC) teams to preserve operational reliability and minimize customer impact. The Operational Senior Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Routing of Delta's flight crews while maintaining compliance with applicable Federal Air Regulations, company, and contractual work rules
Maintaining a constant awareness of current day operation by monitoring flight activity and crew (Pilot and Flight Attendant) events
Proactively responding to and anticipating events to minimize flight delays and cancellations
Responsible for ensuring every flight has a crew assigned to it and Delta computer systems are updated with accurate routing information
The successful candidate will consistently practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
The Coordinator position requires either a Bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience in either Operations/Reservations/Crew Planning or Scheduling
Fundamental knowledge of Delta's flight schedule and crew systems is desired
Candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
Should have experience working effectively on cross-functional teams with the ability to work in a diverse work group
Must have the ability to build relationships while managing multiple demands in a complex organization
Must also be able to prioritize and adapt to constant changes
Should present a professional businesslike image, have a strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
Must be able to perform tasks with minimal guidance
Candidate should have the ability to work well under pressure, be detail oriented, and exhibit excellent organizational skills
Must be willing to work in a socially distanced office environment on 12-hour shifts with rotation days on/off
Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and holidays
Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
* Current or recent experience in Crew Tracking for Delta
* Proficiency with rules and regulations under FAR 117, PWA, and FAWR
* Proficiency with Crew rotations in OSS and DBMS
* Demonstrable ability to innovate
