General Purpose of Job

As the Director, Agency Sales for Lincolns Retirement Plan Services West Region, you will provide leadership and direction to ensure group results. You will work closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to execute sales growth solutions and ensure intermediate-level financial professionals are properly oriented, trained and coached. You will also be responsible for developing training programs, measurement tools, conducting accountability calls/business planning calls with new financial professionals.

This position can maintain a financial planning practice could devote 25% of their time to the practice.

This role will be base out of the following locations with up to 50% travel:
3000 Executive Parkway, San Ramon, CA
Responsibilities
Provides subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
Directs and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards
Establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure group results
Partners with Senior Leadership to advance the divisions initiatives and training
Directs and provides leadership to continually improve capability and results
Ensures that top talent is hired and retained
Builds organizational capability
Develops an accountability and measurement system for financial professionals and conducts weekly accountability calls with all apprentices in their first year of affiliation
Conducts conversations with Financial Professionals when they are not meeting their production requirements and are at risk of losing affiliation
Provides subject matter expertise to evaluate current training resources available and provides financial professionals with most applicable and up to date material needed to grow their practices
Directs and provides subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders to implement training and enforce the measurement system required to track and monitor goals and results of financial professionals
Provides feedback, guidance and assists with the development of Financial Professionals business plan for their practice
Provides coaching to Financial Professionals around sales and tactical skills to build successful practices, this includes but is not limited to sharing best practices and case studies
Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: - Making suggestions for improvement - Learning new skills, procedures and processes

Education

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Experience

7+ Years of experience in financial planning that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of this role
3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

FINRA Series 7 upon hire / Series 63 upon hire / Series 24 within 180 days
