Lead Medical Lab Technician/Medical Tech-FT-Day Shift

The Lead is responsible for performing diagnostic quality routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests according to pre-established guidelines. Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures and maintains records and statistical data according to regulatory requirements. The Lead provides leadership to the department/shift of a designated area. Uses the established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift. The Lead also assumes Laboratory Testing responsibilities and patient care during their shift.

Graduate of Medical Lab Tech or Medical Technology or alternative qualification through a CLIA recognized experience and examination program. One (1) year of Medical Laboratory experience is preferred. Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), HEW or CLT(NCA) is required. BLS certification is preferred.
