Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. CSIM delivers a wide variety of products including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), separately managed accounts (SMAs) and money market funds within Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS). What you are good at

The Sr. Specialist, Operations will provide support to the CSIM SMA trading team to help ensure that operations and trading are completed efficiently and accurately. The Sr. Specialist will ensure that client accounts maintained in the portfolio management system are updated, reconciled and available for use at 9:30 EST and will help maintain data integrity within the portfolio accounting software. Must be able to start work at 7AM EST to begin the morning reconciliation of various custodians data between the in-house system and the custodians.

The Sr. Specialist will also:

* Research and resolve various reconciliation breaks within client accounts.
* Label new accounts as well as perform daily/weekly checks to validate account labeling.
* Work with other team members to process client requests including cash needed and restriction request.
* Review accounts on a periodic basis to verify trade restrictions.
* Maintain cost basis in the accounts in the portfolio management system.
* Maintain and troubleshoot issues related to system generated performance calculations.
* Assist in the integration of additional strategies onto the portfolio management systems.
* Research and process corporate actions in the accounting and trading systems as needed.
* Produce, review, and distribute various daily trading operations exports and reports in support of various CSIM Trading and Operational processes as needed.
* Help maintain accurate client records and ensure proper processes are followed within the portfolio management system.
* Perform periodic tasks in the databases in order to ensure database efficiency and proper user access.
* Assist with quarter end processing including report generation and management fee processes.
* Review prices maintained within the system to ensure accuracy.
* Review custodian alerts and restrictions against internal systems.
* Work with business partners to create and maintain procedures and documentation for operations best practices.
* Assist in the review and processing of voluntary corporate actions for clients in multiple CSIM SMA strategies.
* Learn other job functions on the Operations team in order to be able to provide back up when others are out of the office.

What you have

* Bachelors degree required
* Experience within operations and trade reconciliation
* Experience at a financial firm desired
* Experience with portfolio accounting software desired
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent finance or math skills
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Proficient with Microsoft products Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
* Must be highly ethical, reliable and trustworthy
* Interest in gaining knowledge about investment management
