How? Become a Senior Equipment Engineer at Abbott Puerto Rico.
As Senior Equipment Engineer you will analyze requests from various engineering groups at Site or Division level to modify existing equipment, or conceptualizes, designs, and creates new special purpose equipment to support the needs of Manufacturing, Sustaining, Research and Development departments. Emphasis providing concept of design and effective project planning and deliver results.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
* Lead projects teams, technical team members and direct reports determining goals and objectives for the projects to meet user needs.
* Creates documentation and performs assessments according to Equipment Controls procedures and standards and define deliverables trought the change management process
* Develop new equipment, execute retrofits/upgrades and introduction of new technologies to support manufacturing needs and business continuity.
* Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.
* Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
* Develops knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization and applies this knowledge in leadership roles in the company.
* Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion.
* Understands the business cycle and foresight of emerging technologies trends.
* Serves has a resource in the selection orientation and training of new engineers and employees.
* Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
* Understands the business needs of the company and has a thorough knowledge of the customer needs of our business.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electronics or Electrical preferred).
* 6+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area (regulated environment preferred).
* Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures related to equipment development, improvements and upgrades.
* Experience with SolidWorks CSWA and AutoCAD Electrical.
* Bilingual Fluent in English and Spanish.
