JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintains and repairs the facilitys structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alterations of walls, roofs, or office fixtures.
Essential Functions
* Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions, and items needing repair by making notes and recommendations using a preestablished check sheet.
* Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement of incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, minor appliances, using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
* Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. using power washer, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
* Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
Required Education and Experience
* 5 years hands on factory related maintenance experience
* High school or technical school education
* Experience using hand and electrical tools
* Knowledge of building maintenance functions including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding and mechanical machinery repair
* Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to bend, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
* Moves heavy furniture, equipment, building components, and supplies, either manually, by using hand trucks, or by using other moving equipment.
* Frequently stand/walk, seated, performs desk-based computer tasks.
* Occasionally climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds
* Lifts/carries/pushes/pulls objects that weigh >40 pounds.
