As the Principal Engineer, DevOps, youll work within our application support and problem management organization to develop and maintain smart software that will make it easy for our carriers to optimize freight movement across the U.S. and internationally. What youll do on a typical day:

* Creating suitable DevOps channels
* Designing efficient and comprehensive best practices
* Introduce new industry standards and techniques that deliver improved software solutions; evaluate new technologies for inclusion in developed software solutions
* Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
* Manage and review technical operations
* Design and Develop web, web services and back-office applications using the Microsoft and open source stack of technologies, including C, .NET Core, Kafka, Couchbase, and Elasticsearch
* Participate in the review and analyses of business requirements, functional specifications and design documents; participate in project post-mortem facilitation
* Provide input on information technology tools, application upgrades and architectural design
* Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
* Build and maintain highly available systems and Container Orchestration on Kubernetes and Docker
* Support software infrastructure by identifying and diagnosing software failures

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, youll need:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
* 5 years of experience in DevOps in a CI/CD environment
* Significant version control experience (Git preferred)
* Significant experience with Team City and Octopus
* Experience in build and release engineering through complete mobile, web, and/or backend infrastructure product cycles (and ideally all three)
* Proficient in building and maintaining toolchains

Itd be great if you also have:

* Experience with Java and .NET
* Experience with Team City
* Experience with AWS, VMware, or similar virtualization technologies
