Raleigh General Hospital

Provides quality magnetic resonance imaging studies to include brain, spines, chest, abdomen, pelvis, breast, upper and lower extremities, joints, and mras for use by the Radiologist in diagnosis of patient illness.
Administers IV contrast media appropriately.

Performs MRI examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician and Radiologist

Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the physics associated with magnetic resonance imaging and practices these daily

Acts as a physician/staff consultant and educational resource for appropriateness and accuracy of scans

Assists in scheduling patients n a manner which will optimize the use of equipment and facilitate the expeditious flow of patient traffic

Assists in maintaining a professional and orderly working environment

Assists in the instruction of students as required by regulatory agencies, Raleigh General Hospital and the sponsoring educational institution

Provides age appropriate care to all patients sponsoring educational institution

Reports to: MRI Supervisor

FLSA: Non-exempt

Grade: T13
Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology Required

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days of hire

Required Licenses[West Virginia, United States] Other
ARRT registered in Radiography and WV licensure (MRI registered preferred).

Minimum Work Experience

Minimum of 1 year RT experience. Minimum of six months of current MRI experience. Must be able to stand long hours and lift heavy objects. Must not have a serious contraindication, to be around the magnetic field ex. pacemaker, aneurysm clip, or cochlear implant. Must be eligible for CPR certification. Preference will be given to registered MRI applicants with experience.
