Job Accountabilities

Plant Engineer Alsip, IL

The Plant Engineer must possess the desire and ability to manage maintenance and repair for all areas of the plant. As a member of the team the Plant Engineer will be a partner in the Operations Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

* Design, implement and maintain preventive as well as predictive maintenance programs.
* Prepare and administer department budget within established guidelines for maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
* Responsible for following all company EH&S policies and procedures for self and subordinates (i.e.: lock out tag out).
* Able to manage and direct a maintenance staff and workforce.
* Facilitates and fosters a teamwork oriented philosophy.
* Plans and oversees capital expenditure items including purchases, contracted labor and in-house construction and fabrication projects.
* Facilitates and supports all EH&S programs.
* Provides necessary training to new and existing employees.
* Stays current on technological changes and all compliance matters as it pertains to equipment and machinery.
* Manage Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems; computers as applied to industrial uses; knowledge of basic motor controls, VFDs. DC drives, Eddy Current systems, etc.
* Knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley), installation, set-up, and programming
* Process control systems function, set-up, programming, and functional applications.
* Performs other duties as requested by the Plant Manager.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelors degree in a technical field or 10 years relevant experience
* Demonstrated leadership and management skills- managing maintenance department and collaborating with supervisors
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience with automated fabrication equipment, industrial electrical, industrial low-voltage, building maintenance and curing ovens.
* Ability and desire to work in a team oriented environment.
* Experience in capital project management, handling vendors and contractors.
* Experience in Microsoft Office and CAD.
* Experience in managing repair expense budgets
