Translate what you learned from your college textbooks into a rewarding accounting internship. You will gain a broad overview of the multiple aspects of the Real Estate Accounting process by observing and assisting accounting professionals, as well as performing a variety of accounting duties in support of various departments. Training will be provided on various software systems and CBRE policies and procedures.
Assist in assembling, analyzing, and reconciling general ledger, bank reconciliation and month end related entries. Work with accountants to reconcile A/R, budget variance explanations and month-end reporting schedules
Assist with the calculation and creation of accrual, month end and GAAP related journal entries. Assist in month end procedures and preparation of financial reporting packages to forward to the field offices, based on client requirements
Participate in informational overview, including observing and assisting with the various Real Estate Accounting functional areas; such as AP, AR, Lease Administration, etc. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (BA/BS) program from an accredited four-year college or university, in Accounting or related discipline. Third-year student status preferred.
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and business documents and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries in a professional and appropriate manner. Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to perform basic financial analysis and accounting calculations.
Requires a basic understanding of internal controls as well as a basic understanding of financial reporting rules and regulations Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills. Ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to routine issues. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures. General experience with MS Office software
