The Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division of Northrop Grumman 39;s Space Systems sector seeks team members who want to solve interesting, complex problems which protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.

What you rsquo;ll get to do:

As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will lead/support a team of engineers to analyze and validate requirements for the ground segment of a mature system. Due to the mature nature of the system, you will have the sustainment focus of the quot;Systems Engineering V. quot; In your role you will:

* Lead ground segment level trade studies
* Define high-level functional/performance requirements and track them through design, integration, and operational validation
* Support a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation and demonstrate team readiness in relation to implementing sustainment level changes
* Coordinate and collaborate with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the mature technical baseline
* Support multiple engineering insertions simultaneously while ensuring the various maturations are synchronized
* Determine and develop technical solutions to complex problems independently

Qualification

Basic Qualifications for a Staff Systems Engineer:

* 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 12 years of relevant experience with a Masters 39; degree; 9 years of relevant experience with a PhD
* Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
* Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
* Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access or active SCI access

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Agile development
* Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
* Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
* Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
* Excellent technical writing and team building skills
