Position Overview

The Supplier Readiness Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of supplier readiness for new product introductions, for the commodities you are responsible for. This includes following supplier tooling from PO issuance to production parts, reviewing EDI requirements and connectivity with the supplier, PPAP planning and ensuring that material is available and delivered to the manufacturing locations on time to support the various build events. You will also be responsible for all Procurement activities from release through production for current production changed parts, for your specific commodities, to ensure business goals and objectives are met. This includes sourcing and quoting per the CMT strategy to meet cost expectations and ensuring that implementation timing aligns with expectations and / or business needs. This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast paced environment. As a Supplier Readiness team member you will be on the leading edge of New Product introductions.

Responsibilities include:

* Build and manage relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors and management
* Create and monitor supplier readiness plans to ensure they align with program expectations
* Anticipate potential problems, be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget
* Manage sustaining and SE (Special Equipment) releases via CCB3 process
* Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment
* Negotiate all aspects of cost, piece price, tooling etc., for current product changes to ensure best cost to Navistar
* Focus on PUR parts - minimize the impact of part changes to current production
* Interact with vendors and cross functional teams to ensure timing & quality expectations of the program are met
* Open and frequent communication on program status, for your commodity, to both the Program Teams, Forward Sourcing and the CMT's

Basic Requirements

* Bachelor's degree
* At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience

OR

* Master's degree
* At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience

OR

* At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience

Additional Requirements

* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
