Function Overview:

Whirlpool is looking for qualified candidates for the role of System Integration Lead Engineer. This role will be located at our Edgewater Tech Center, in St Joseph, MI. In this position you will work with integration team on the final manufactured products from Concept through Production Validation for all projects. This role will delivers product leadership through balanced product solutions. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing system integration for projects, ensuring that project activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality and performance targets. This position is accountable for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project and for ensuring the full system validation for the project through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages.

Job Responsibilities:

* Manage system integration both in development and regional execution phases
* Responsible for design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and issues within the project/product plan guardrails
* Ensure full system validation through model simulation at Technical Design Selection gate and validation of full system at Final Architecture Integration gate
* Act as the technical project manager coordinating subsystem development activities and system integration
* Responsible for Platform system integration activities on assigned project (time, cost, quality)
* Coordinate Sub-system activities
* Report project activities status vs project targets
* Conduct full system validation through model simulation at Technical Design Selection gate
* Conduct validation of full system readiness against product leadership attribute targets at Final Architecture Integration gate
* Manage architecture, systems modeling, and knowledge reuse capabilities

Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering
* 5+ years of experience in Product Development
* 2+ years of experience in System Engineering
* 2+ years experience in Project Management

Preferred Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Work in a Global environment (organizations and locations)
* Experience in structures, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
* Experience in Electrical/Electronic systems
* Experience with system integration skills
* Technical coaching abilities
* Global team experience
* People leadership experience
* Desire to grow, learn and take on new and challenging tasks
* Analytical skills, experience in solving practical issues, and engaging cross-functional teams of multiple process partners to a consensus
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
