Job Description

Position Summary:

Phase 2 of Thermo Fisher Scientifics Bio-Flex Apprenticeship Program. Student candidates must have successfully completed 3 month program focused on providing exposure to bio-technology and developing basic operations skills / experiences (Phase 1). Program will develop lab-based bio-technical manufacturing experience and skills, and will be provided to students with three to four years college completion. Will prepare candidates for technical bio-technology Scientist 1 roles within the Transplant Diagnostics pre-production organization. Upon completion of this apprentice program, and graduation with a bachelors degree, candidates will be eligible for Pre-Production Scientist 1 roles.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Implement and execute Practical knowledge of PPI Business System/LEAN concepts including continuous improvement with supervision
* Provide support throughout projects and product builds
* Maintain and perform all aspects of receiving and quality control testing of raw materials.
* Perform Cycle Count
* Conduct maintenance and organization of reagents and equipment
* Identify and solve problems with minimum complexity
* Assist with the update of all required SOPs and quality records.

Minimum Requirements:

* Candidates for this program will have two years completed college education, be enrolled in a four-year university seeking a bachelors degree in the science, or related fields.
* Prior work/school experience demonstrating core work ethics and reliability.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work within teams
* Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as ability to work in a detail-oriented manner
* Basic knowledge of computer MSOffice skills
* Read, and understand written laboratory procedures
* Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
* Ability to exercise decision making with the guidance of Management/Leads

Accountability:

* Must maintain work schedule as assigned, including completion of specific tasks in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
* Must follow oral and written instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
* All personnel are expected to notify their immediate supervisor of any unsafe conditions and/or practices and to take appropriate corrective action.
* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive laboratory and business data
* Ensure that safe laboratory procedures and protocols are followed at all times, especially in the application of universal precautions in handling of all blood and blood products
* Ensure all processes and teams are in adherence of cGMP and GDP
* Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines
